    1. [S169] Kirk Sessions, Church of Scotland, (ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk), Longside, Aberdeenshire Scotland kirk session, Minutes (1798-1845), CH2/699/7, fols. 53-54., 4 Jan 1807.
      1806 December 14th. The session met and being constituted, compeared Isabel STEVENSON in Upper Kinknockie, and being interrogated, judicially acknowledged that she was with child in uncleanness and being further interrogated, accused GEORGE SHEPHERD in Newton of Ludquhain as the guilty father. After a suitable exhortation from the moderator, she was cited, apud acta, to attend session on the 21st instant, and the officer was appointed to cite said GEORGE SHEPHERD to be then and there present.

      December 21st. The session met, etc. c ompeared on citation GEORGE SHEPHERD and ISABEL STEVENSON, acknowledging their guilt of fornication. They were afterward suitably spoken to, and exhorted to repentance, and cited to attend Session on that day forthnight.

      1807 January 4th. The Session met, and being constituted, compeared on citation GEORGE SHEPHERD and ISABEL STEVENSON in profession of their repentance, and after a serious admonition to repentance and amendment of life, were absolved from the scandal.

      Decedant: Falconer Cruickshank, widow of William Cruickshank, molecatcher, at 12:00 a.m. at Blackdyke, Kinknockie, aged 79 years, daughter of George Shepherd, ploughman and Barbara Shepherd, maiden surname Stephenson, both deceased. Cause of death, disease of the heart for a number of years and hemiplegia for 18 days. In attendance was Andrew Robertson, son-in-law, usual residence Westerton, Cruden.
