IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, SAMUEL MILLER, Junr., boatkeeper in Bonaventure, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland, do hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament being of sound mind and memory but advancing in years do appoint my true and lawful wife MARTHA MILLER and my son WILLIAM MILLER, to be my true and only Executors that at my decease they the said MARTHA and WILLIAM MILLER do see me decently interred and see all my just debts paid and I hereby give and bequeath to my lawful wife MARTHA MILLER the sum of two hundred pounds in the 3 per centum consolidated for her sole use and benefit.
Also I give and bequeath to my eldest son, WILLIAM MILLER, the sum of one hundred pounds in the 3 per centum consolidateds for his own use and benefit.
also I give and bequeath to my said son SAMUEL MILLER the sum of fifty pounds in the 3 per centum consolidated for his own use and benefit.
Also I give and bequeath to my daughter SARAH KING the wife of JAMES KING the sum of fifty pounds in the 3 per centum consolidateds for her own use and benefits.
also I give and bequeath to my son JOSEPH MILLER the sum of fifty pounds in the 3 per centum consolidateds for his own use and benefit.
also I give and bequeath to my son JAMES MILLER the sum of fifty pounds in the 3 per centum consolidateds for his own use and benefit.
Also I give and bequeath to my son JOHN MILLER the sum of fifty pounds in the 3 per centum consolidateds for his own use and benefit
Also I give and bequeath to my sons WILLIAM MILLER, JOSEPH MILLER, SAMUEL MILLER, JAMES MILLER and JOHN MILLER the sum of one hundred pounds sterling now in the hands of Mr. Joseph Garland now living in Wareham, Dorset, England, to be equally divided between the above mentioned five sons for their sole use and benefit.
Also I give and bequeath to my sons WILLIAM MILLER, SAMUEL MILLER, JOSEPH MILLER, JAMES MILLER and JOHN MILLER all my fishing room, flake or flakes, seashore, beaches, seagoor stages, dwelling house, stoce house and fish house or houses, gardens and meadows situated in New Bonaventure, Trinity Bay, with boats, spunts, nets, and all appurtenances belonging to the said room or fishery to be equally divided between them the aforementioned five children with the exception of the land, whereon JAMES KING has built by my consent a room which he the said JAMES KING is to enjoy as long as he shall think fit to live thereon and his heirs and his Executors after him, with half the lower beach and in case of any disagreement between the aforementioned five sons and a separation takes place then they are to assist each other in building a room until they are all provided for the first that leave the present dwelling house to assist the last son if he remains in New Bonaventure with this clause that my true and lawful wife MARTHA MILLER is to remain in the dwelling house as long as she may think proper or until her decease and that neither of my sons shall from the oldest to the youngest by no means turn her out the said house or off the said room.
Also I give and bequeath to each of my sons one gun each.
Also I give and bequeath to my said son SAMUEL MILLER my clothes chest.
Also I give and bequeath to my son JOSEPH MILLER my knee buckles.
Also I give and bequeath to my daughter SARAH KING after the decease of my wife MARTHA MILLER six silver tea spoons and one pair of silver tea tongs.
Also I give and bequeath to my niece ELIZABETH MILLER the daughter of DENIS MILLER deceased a suit of mourning.
Trusting that my Executors MARTHA MILLER and WILLIAM MILLER will see and do their utmost in seeing this my last Will and Testament fulfilled and executed as far as in their power lies I .... to set my hand and seal this the twenty third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen

B. It is my request that at my decease my son JOHN MILLER do go with his brother WILLIAM MILLER to be brought up under him until he shall attain the years of 21. It is my request that my son SAMUEL MILLER do take under his care my daughter MARTHA MILLER to provide for her until she shall attain the years of 21. I give and bequeath to my niece SARAH MILLER the daughter of my brother JOSEPH MILLER the sum of six pounds to be paid out the money left my sons if there is no over plus money.

Trinity October 30, 1824, I do hereby certify that to my certain knowledge SAMUEL MILLER JUNIOR whose signature is annexed to this Will and SAMUEL MILLER SENR. who signatures are annexed to the three Codicils are identically the same person the Testator's father SAMUEL MILLER, SENIOR being living at the time the Will was made in the year 1817.
