| Notes |
- a lawyer. He was Knight of the Shire for Oxfordshire in 1467-1468, and ?1470-1471, Sheriff of Gloucestershire, 1472-1473, and Sheriff of Oxfordshire and Berkshire, 1474-1475.. A rather full biography of Humphrey Forster is found in Wedgwood, House of Parliament, 1 (1936): 344-345.
Humphrey Forster, husband of Alice Stonor, married (2nd) after 1466
Sibyl, widow of Robert Poyntz, which Sibyl survived him in 1488.
According to Wedgwood, Sibyl was born in 1426, thus it is unlikely
that she was the mother of any of Humphrey's children.
I might add that Alice Stonor, wife of Humphrey Forster, Esq., should
not be confused with her brother, Thomas Stonor's daughter, also named
Alice Stonor. This other Alice Stonor married Richard Harcourt, Knt.,
as stated in my book, Plantagenet Ancestry (2004).
