BROADE AKA BROADBRIDGE, Robert (I4723)

2131 Father recorded on this baptism is Samuel, not Richard, which begs the question as to whether this child is a child of Richard's and the clerk merely recorded the father's name incorrectly. Or, if the father was named Samuel, is this the first indication of a brother, cousin, father or uncle for Richard Maplesden coming into the parish of Yalding. MAPLESDEN, Mary (I11321)

2132 Father Thomas was recorded as being a hatter on this baptism, an occupation that doesn't reappear until the 1861 census when Sarah Hall is living back at home as a widow. RUCK, Sarah Hall (I20029)

2133 Father was a blacksmith on this birth registration. THURSTEN, George Stanley Moss (I11566)

2134 Father William was a mariner residing on Preston Street at the time of Emma Jane's christening in 1856. HADLOW, Emma Jane (I7612)

2135 Father “Serving in Peninsula Lieut. 5th Regiment Dragoon Guards” JACKSON, Augusta Owlett Hardy (I14500)

2136 Fellow of New College, Oxford JOSEPH, Horace (I8403)

2137 Fernando and Juana had one son and three daughters. One daughter, Blanca Núñez de Lara, was the mother-in-law to King Henry II of Castile. DE LA CERDA, Lord of Lara, Fernando (I12610)

Re: The other Benjamin BICKLE (COMPLETED)
« Reply #7 on: Monday 07 April 14 21:09 BST (UK) »
You mention that there is no baptism of John, son of Abel Bickle, in the Broadwoodwidger parish register. I have just obtained a copy of the will of Able Bickle, of Broadwoodwidger, who died in 1816. His will mentions his son John Bickle as well as his grandson John Bickle (son of his son John Bickle).
It also mentions his son Benjamin Bickle, but with no further information that would help you in your quest for the "right" Benjamin Bickle.

My own interest in the Broadwoodwidger Bickels is to determine what relationship, if any, Philip Bickel (known to be related to the family of my interest--that of Thomas ROCKEY) has to them.
